This is a Tasmanian insurance company, so not really busy with Victoria. Though, it's terrible what happened there. My old friend sent me a few pictures of the damage. First the drought, then Black Saturday, and now this. You guys just can't get a break. Ummm...

Black Saturday was a series of bushfires that pretty much destroyed areas of Victoria last summer.

And we had snowzilla here that buried even the gov't for a few days. Sounds like more moisture is being pulled from the ocean this year; even Africa has had more rain than normal. Very unusual.

Mini-rant: school sucks like a bitch right now. I keep getting bad grades from my religion teacher for disagreeing with her (and these fights are brought to me, it's not like I seek them out) and the same manstitute of a teacher who makes fun of me for my hair situation (and you know what that is) has started talking about me behind my back.

Ri: That's so sad. It's possible that her parents think she is too young to be dating. Have they forbidden you to stay friends with her? (If not, you might want to make sure that they get to know you too. That does tend to be important to parents of girls. Wink

)

She fussed out my little sister, whos not even 13, and intimidated her, threaten to take her dog to the pound, and kept her dog in a raccon trap all day without food or water.

*shudders* I'm really shy around my relatives whom aren't blood related (exceptions are my cousins, who were adopted and were raised like blood) and this reinforces my fear of them.

As said in chat, I write the full story here.

Jena called me on Saturday. She explained to me that her parents didn't want her dating, thus we had a mutual agreement to break up. I come to school on Monday, and she's back with her ex. I feel hurt and betrayed. I'm also extremely angry. Lunch comes, and I let my anger get the best of me, and write a note to her accusing her of lying to me. Come 6th period, I learn the truth.\

Her stepfather doesn't like me. He would rather have her going out with a stoner alcoholic. She wasn't able to explain to me that's why we had to break up, because her father was rather threatening to hurt ME for dating her. That's why we broke up.

So, she most likely hates me now. I'm confused, angry still.

I was told by one of our friends that she needs me now more than ever, and I have no clue what to do. Sad

Vampy and I talked about it and here's our advice:
She should have been honest from the beginning and for that she was a bit wrong but we can understand the fear should would have over telling you, either lose of your friendship or a physical threat. Which brings us to this, is she physically abused, because (along with what Raps said) should be reported. It was also wrong that she is now dating her ex, something is really off about that.

But, that aside, I would at least talk to her about what happened and see if she just made an excuse to go back with her ex or if she is serious. I would say her need for you is dire but it is important that you guys talk. Her step-dad may be dangerous but he may just be blowing smoke. How old is she, is she old enough to make a responsible decision and sit and talk with her father about it? If she is serious about getting back with you, that is an option you guys can talk about together, but she would have to talk with him, no yelling, no accusing and she has to talk, not in silence with her arms crossed.

If her step-dad doesn't like you, be very careful if you are older than she is. I knew a kid who got arrested for dating his girlfriend when he turned 18 and she was a month away from turning 17. Now he's a registered sex offender, just because her parents didn't like him!

I agree that there is something really wrong about her being with her ex. If she lied about why she had to break up, is it possible that she lied about who was threatening
her/you?

And I don't get why she's with her ex.. you guys really need to talk about everything. The fact that her parents don't like you can't be strong enough to kill your relationship.. =/

So...
My parents just got into a huge argument over a wrong number. Dad broke his $500 phone to pieces, Mom threatened to leave, and Dad threatened divorce. THEN, even though HE started it, he repeatedly yells "OH, GOT AN ATTITUDE NOW?" "I'M DONE WITH YOUR GAMES!" Gah.
It's such a stupid thing to argue over!! *fumes* And an even stupider thing to break a phone over!! Pissed Off

Ri, seriously, you NEED to report it. If Jena is being physically or even mentally abused, that (depending on the level of abuse) may be a misdemeanor or even a felony. If you really are younger than her, you're safe from sex offender status (though possibly not her, depending on the psychotic level of her father). If you're not though, and he stays in the picture, you need to watch your back.

And if you're uncomfortable making the anonymous report, you might try to talk to a teacher who you trust (and is smart enough, mind you

) to make the report. You might have to do a little convincing, but I'm pretty sure there's a contingency for someone with legal status to report something for a minor.

All we've done so far this year in English is talk about ourselves, and now I have to make a box 'pretty and colourful' with 'pictures that represent me and my life', and put three items that are 'special to me' in it and do an oral presentation about them. For Friday. Goddammit, I'm so f*cking sick of collages! And talking about ME! Why can't we actually LEARN SOMETHING?

You are learning to put together a paragraph and present it in public. I assume you are being graded on proper grammar?

Don't knock the value of learning to be a confident public speaker considering that the results of one poll were rather jokingly summed up as "when it comes to funerals, 62% of people responding would rather be in the casket than giving the eulogy."
