Re: The Rant Thread
*huggles Ghost back*
I rant to much.. but, uh, I jammed my finger in the car door this morning. And it f*cking HURT. and it still does. According to the school nurse (The nurses at my school are awesome. They gave me a heap of lollies when I came in again at recess for panadol xD) there could be some damage to the bone/joint, but they can't do much but tape it up. Which they did, which made it rather hard to write today. And it's a bit hard to type as well. *sigh* Bad luck 2010 continues...
Oh and my science teacher laughed at me and called me a wuss when I said I couldn't really write. He's mean.

It'll be a bad year if you think it'll be a bad year, Becca. It's completely up to you whether or not you're going to have a bad year.

Re: The Rant Thread
Becca: Bad things will happen and good things will happen. If you don't let the bad things get you down, and keep being grateful for the good things that you do have, 2010 will get better. This is coming from the person who had a good year despite losing a home, losing a car, and having a brain tumor in 2009. I kept my faith in God, and things worked out. It can get very hard, but keep finding things to be grateful for. Beautiful sunsets, friends (here) who love you, kind nurses, etc. And then focus on that instead of the bad stuff. It does help. As a fortune cookie said, You can't change the wind, but you can set the sails.

You -aren't- smart? You had me fooled!
It sounds like they want you to grow into a healthy adult. We've had some experience lately with someone who just wanted to be himself and didn't care what anybody else thinks of him... Is it 6 times he's been banned now? Children don't come with an instruction manual. Parents do the best they can. Sometimes they blow it.

Smartness has nothing to do with taking out the trash, methinks. Either way, you'd still not -want- to do it.

Re: The Rant Thread
I prefer that people do act themselves, but no matter who you are, trash taking out kinda is a norm, everyone does it. So it you want to be yourself, and it doesn;t physically hurt anyone, no problem. Also, you may want to show your different in other ways than something that may end you with you getting into trouble.
Not to feed your hate or anything, but I have a special dance planned for my fathers grave. Actually, its probably unhealthy how many dances I have saved for future dead relatives and some ex's. Maybe I should go back to therapy...
But if it makes you feel any better, he got you that Sonic doll for Christmas, right?

Re: The Rant Thread
Yes, parents do tend to bring up grades when they think you can do better than you have been doing. Honestly ask yourself: are they right? You don't have to answer that here, but if they are right, you can expect them to keep bringing it up because they want you to be the best that you can be. (I sound like an Army recruitment ad there...) And if they are wrong, you need to quietly and patiently prove to them them that you really are doing your very best.
It isn't that they don't want you to have fun. They just want you to be able to have a good life when you grow up, too.

Thats a shame, Nina. I wish I knew what to say to make you feel better, but I just have nothing. I hope that it somehow works out through the phone or internet or something. Maybe she will chnage her mind, and maybe it is happening for a reason. I really do hope for the best.

Re: The Rant Thread
What if you guys pretended to break up, but not? As long as they're clueless, she should be alright. (Just don't let her parents read this post! )
And now, I have a little bit of a rant.
So the roof is leaking -again- because of the rain. We've had to get out three times during the night to empty the buckets and put them back under the holes. (We've got two in the corridor, and one in the kitchen, between the sink and the garbage bin, and some dumbass turned on the pool pump again, so now we've got water leaking through one of the lights in the middle of the room. THE LIGHT.) We called to get it fixed in DECEMBER, and nothing has been done about it so far. On Friday, we had been called by the insurance company saying it would get fixed. I forget when they said they'd do it, but it wasn't this week, when it's raining constantly, that's for certain.
We had told them that we desperately needed to get the roof fixed, because any more water damage would cause the house to, pretty much, collapse. The company coming up to fix the roof, had said to us:
"Don't worry, if it's necessary, we'll send out an emergency tarpaulin."
A TARPAULIN!? We don't want a f*cking tarp, we want our roof fixed before it collapses, and we've still got about 80, 000 $ in mortgage to pay off. We can't AFFORD to buy a new house!
/end rant.

Re: The Rant Thread
I guess all you can do is hope that the insurance will cover it, and you can get it fixed soon. Though, I might add, the insurance companies will be EXTREMELY busy at the moment, especially if they insure Victorians.
Which brings me to my multi-part rant -
I keep getting told off for 'being stupid' by being slightly excited, and kind of scared, by all the rain and storms everything we've had this weekend. The thing is, I've never seen rain like this before, we've been in drought since I've been about 3/4. And I mean, if ANYONE saw the damage that's been done in town, they'd be kind of scared as well. There's literally trees that have had their roots and all ripped up and thrown across roads. And I know I'm being a bit melodramatic, but yeah.
And I'm kind of worried, as well. I've heard from all of my family but one Aunt, and she happens to live in a town that they said was hit badly by the storm. She's already not well, so I'm rather worried. And a lot of people from school live in the areas that got hit, as well. I already know of one person that's had sheds ripped to pieces and huge trees fall near their house, and they don't even live near where the worst of the storm hit. :/ I guess I'll just have to wait until tomorrow to see if everyone's okay. And I guess, I'll have to count myself lucky that we only got the edge of the storm.
