Pass Healthcare reform AND get rid of Rush Limbaugh!? Let's do it!
First off, this, as some of you may know, is Rush Limbaugh, an extremist right-wing political radio talkshow host known for being fat, insensitive, ugly, fat, anti-gay, anti-minority, fat, hate-speaking, ugly, extremist, fat, anti-progressive, backward, and just all around the spawn of Satan.
(I bet even Ghost wouldn't be able to bring herself to hug him) He recently said "If healthcare reform is passed, I'll leave the county!" PLEASE. LET'S PASS THE THING AND KILL 2 (fat) BIRDS WITH ONE STONE! I mean, the man is nothing but an asshole. He said that gays caused 911 (actually, he was agreeing with Jerry Falwell, another asshat), and that we shouldn't help Haiti because they "are stupid, ignorant morons there."
On another note, can we ditch the ass known as Glenn Beck as well? I mean, just read this article about him: here.
So the question is: Has the Republican party GONE NUTS?

Actually, once he saw some of the people I hang out with and call friends I don't think he would accept a hug from me if I offered one. And yes, the Republican party has gone nuts.

The health care reform bill is terrible. I am talking about the one being pushed through by the left socialist party that has taken over. In it's current form, it is probably the worst bill since anything Roosevelt passed to "help" the great depression. It has no private option. No insurance premium limit. Taxes are going to shoot through the roof. If you like being told what to do by your government, I suggest you move to Europe and see what happens when you let the government take over every aspect of your life. This country is in major trouble and the people driving the bus into a wall are the same dope smoking hippies in the 60's that tried to make a revolution and make American a communist nation.
Communism has never worked. Ever country that has enacted its ideology has failed and failed hard. Russia and Cuba are prime examples.
Before you throw out defamation of Rush, look no further than the people Obama surrounds himself with for hate speech. Van Jones, Jim Wallis and Rev Wright. Bill Ayre is a terrorist. These are people who have the ear of the president. You call Republicans crazy, try doing a little research on who is in White House and left side of Congress. I would love for you to look up these people and try to defend this vile filth over running my country. These people are perverting the term Social Justice to mean Marxist Communism, instead of the charitable meanings it once had. It sure is easy to believe everything you hear day in and day out from the major news media. You hear it enough and you start to believe it. Most of it, probably isn't true.
I am not a democrate or republican. I am an American. I am sick of big government and I am sick of government take over of my rights. This health care bill will bring us to our knees. Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and USPS are all big government failed programs. Why would Health Care be any different. We are well over 10 trillion in debt. Why do we need to take on more debt? You don't fight your debt by adding more debt. You wouldn't put out a fire with gasoline. Hemorrhaging money isn't the answer.

I agree that it could be better, but the idea is to pass SOMETHING, then work at it bit by bit after this. If it's really all THAT bad, the GOP will win big, repeal it, and we'll be back where we were before. There is a MAJOR healthcare problem here in the US (and I have -very- intimate experience with it.), and yet it was ignored by all the conservative presidents on the basis that there is no possible fix. Well, if you never try and never take a risk, you never make ANY progress. i also note that this bill was partially based off the Danish system, which is hugely successful. Holland gets a bad rap for its legalization of everything, but you go there and you see that it's not the citizens abusing, its the visitors. And Holland has a relatively moderate crime rate, no worse than the US, so it can't be argued that the added liberties create more pot-and-alcohol-induced crime.
Well, look at the great depression. Caused by conservative presidents who sold out to other nations, then did nothing to rectify the consequences of their actions. Had the gov't not stepped in, it is likely that the depression could have lasted much longer. Granted, no Roosevelt was not perfect, and I agree SS and Medicare blatantly age discriminate. No, the are not perfect. Do they work for those who get them? Mostly. The gov't will never be perfect.
Do you actually LIKE Rush and his hatespeech? Because defending him in the name of exposing other hatespeakers on the other side of the aisle is hardly a worthy cause. He spews hate, and frankly I too hate Ayre and Wright. But I'm willing to take the chance that they talk to the pres once every so often in hopes to to better this back-asswards nation of hate and discrimination. And you know it is. Hate crimes have the highest rate of non-punishment of anywhere in the modernized world. I myself was beaten up at one point for being "an illegal scumbag." (Mind you I'm from Switzerland and immigrated legally) america is the land of opportunity, if you're not killed by a skinhead first.
Socialism, while not something I want nor think we should try for, is also the longest-lasting system of gov't besides monarchy, but that one ends far differently. We will never be a communist nation, the people would burn the capital and everyone in it before that happens, so spewing "We're gonna be communist!" BS everywhere really doesn't prove anything. in addition, we were fighting communism in the 60s, not promoting it. However, if you wish to sacrifice 1000 lives every year in the name of trying to hold up our sterling American cowboy, non-communist, bone-headed reputation, go right ahead. And when I get my draft card I shall go to Canada. Call me a skeptical immigrant, but I've been nationalized for my entire "aware" life.
The Federal US gov't has not significantly increased in size since the 1950s, and continues to remain about the same size. State gov'ts on the other hand have more than doubled in size in that time. You want smaller gov't? Start by giving up services in your state to decrease the state gov't size. The state gov'ts provide most day-to-day services, and as such are the ones increasing in size. The debt is a big burden yes, and it is a problem. However, there are other issues that also must be taken care of, and debt reduction cannot be our only goal. It's like trying to sweep up spilled sugar with a leaking sugar bag tied to your thigh. I am democrat only in my social policy, which is that all people are created equal and must have equal rights, excluding fringe border cases in which those rights endanger the populace. The GOP-religious right seem to have ignored that whole all people are equal thing, even when its in their own religion. I'm all for debt reduction as long as it's really feasible. I mean, who wants to waste money? If we can do it with less, I vote to do it. However, I would not do it at the expense of those who cannot already afford to live.

I used to be a Republican until they started to develop the mentality that anybody who makes less than 50K a year is lazy, probably an illegal immigrant, and therefore not worth bothering with. I still think that things should be done as locally as possible, and government should stay out of things as much as possible, but lately I've been more and more a Democrat. (Or at least, Anti- Republican)

Members who voted for the health care bill had their offices and homes trashed. I think that says something about the type of people who are taking over the republican part. Like the 'You Like' idiot with no manners, they're starting to get too uncivilized and violent to be allowed in government.

I think violence has a very real and valid place, but only as a last means. It shouldn't be used as a policy-making device, however it is quite useful when the gov't does something totally out of bounds, which this was not.
I don't think it's fair to label all non-liberals idiots, because some of them certainly DO have good policy ideas, however i do agree that the people running the Republican (and Tea) party(ies) are not truly representative of the real "Republicans." Granted, some of them are just like the leaders, but there are more Democratic leaders that seem to represent the moderate base. I don't write off people based on their party, I write them off based on the politicians they support. And if they support John Boehner I feel that they are simply too conservative.

Aspects of this country are getting out of hand. You can't go around trashing people's homes/offices for disagreeing with you. Yes, the healthcare bill passed, but it is by no means done. There will be lots of revisions and amendments. They will try to get it so that it works for the majority of the people. It really is not feasible to help every single person, and not everyone needs the help. Yes, this will put us further in debt, but, really, after you are 10 trillion dollars in debt, it's not going to make that much of a difference.
I get really annoyed here sometimes because nearly everyone is a republican, or at least pretends that they are. While I'm not exactly a democrat ( more of an independent), it gets frustrating when you try to voice your opinion and get shot down all the time. Can't we just go back to a time where people have rational debates about their differing opinions, rather than getting nasty with each other?

Listen, I don't know anything about anyone or anybody.
All I know that the healthcare bill is bad for my family. I don't know why; that is what my mom tells me. I hate talking about poilitics.

Er, is she telling you that now you can't get heath insurance? Because that's a lie. Taylor was saying the same thing, and what he said was the opposite of what the bill DOES. I've learned not to trust my parents on politics, it'd be wise for you to do as well. Maybe it really -is- bad in some way for you, however I really doubt it.
