Perfect Dark[Xbox Live Arcade]

Rare is giving me an early Christmas present. That present is a completely overhauled version of Perfect Dark. It is coming March 17th, 2010 and will 800 MSP. It will support 8 players online. I am so excited. It will be 1080p and super awesome. I have always wondered what this fun game would be like if it were made now. Now I get that chance. Hope to play with some of you if you have a 360.

Perfect Dark was THE game on the N64 for parties. It was going to be a sequel to Goldeneye, one of the biggest games on the N64. Now Perfect Dark is finally being remade and going to be re-awesome! I love playing shooters online and itching to go toe to toe with some of the best players.

So it's a bit like a James Bond game, play wise?

Thats weird, I think i saw a demo for that today in the PS3 store. Hmm, I'll have to look when I get home.

It ran off of a modified, if not the same Goldeneye engine when it was on the N64. If you have played any of the TimeSplitters games from last generation, you have played a very similar game.

Also, I highly doubt this would be in the PS3 store since it is made by Rare, and Rare was bought by MS. Might be thinking of Darksiders or Dark Void. A couple games came out recently with Dark in the name.

It will just be Xbox 360. As much as I want everyone to play this, Rare is doing it and Rare is owned by Microsoft. If it is released on any other console, it would be a rerelease of the original on the Wii Virtual Console.

Does Nintendo still own the rights to it?

I don't think so. I am certain that Rare took them when they left since Perfect Dark Zero was on the 360. I think Nintendo has a good relationship with Rare still, because Rare put out a Viva Pinatas title on the DS. Perfect Dark, the original might come out on the Wii through the Virtual Console. Not saying it will, but there might be a chance.

And rare did Diddy Kong Racing for the DS as well, so i guess they still get along.

Diddy Kong might fall under Donkey Kong in terms of rights. They might even jointly own the rights to that game. I am not even sure if Rare was involved with that game when it was ported to the DS. I have the card, but my collection is packed up.

You're right, they dumped all the Rare characters for the remake.

Perfect Dark is up and ready to be enjoyed if you have an Xbox 360. I am off to go DL it now!

It is pretty much the same as the old N64 game but with vastly improved graphics, a better controller and some bug fixes. Also, 8 player online.
