See? THAT is why I hate the english languge, and I never knew that, I thought they were opposite.

Anyways, I guess its like Inflammable means "can be INFLAMED". The "in" does not mean "not" in this case.

It's one of those exceptions like not pronouncing the "k" in knife

I suppose it's because a certain amount of math is basic, just like a certain amount of language skill is basic even if you are majoring in math.

Why do people care how old I am? I'm having a birthday tomorrow. Fine. It's a birthday. Does it really matter which number it is? (Or for that matter, does it matter if we celebrate it on the right day or not? I'm rather used to having a joint birthday party with my sister on Thanksgiving. Or the day after Thanksgiving.)
