Friend's Girlfriend Hates Me

I have only a few friends not online (since being an invalid who can't leave the house cuts into your social life like you wouldn't BELIEVE) and I was hanging out with one of them last weekend. Only she used to have a really big crush on me and now she has a girlfriend. And the girlfriend kept calling and CALLING. It was quite annoying. First we went to a Garden Museum, then lunch, then we went back to my house for tea. And...that sorta sounds like a setup for a date right? So it made the girlfriend QUITE mad and I get the feeling her girlfriend is going to be pissed at her for a while. So my question is, she's really awesome to hang out with and I haven't really talked to her a lot lately. So should I hang out with her the same as I did before or would it seem... bad to hang out with her more often. Cause her girlfriend doesn't like it.

Sorry for fragmented structure, I copy pasted a lot of it from a chat because I want everyone's help! I am so confused! What is the right thing to do? Am I being selfish by wanting to hang out with her if I know it will make her girlfriend mad?

Well, what really matters is how your friend feels. If she feels that she's not interested in you anymore (and will tell you so, that's important) and still cares for her girlfriend (and doesn't seem to be using you to get the gf jealous) then I think you have every right to hang out with her. If her gf is over-protective because you 2 are hanging out, tell the gf that you aren't interested in the friend (as long as she has told you she isn't interested in you) and to stop worrying.

Right to association with anyone you please is a constitutional right, and as long as your friend isn't using you, isn't still interested in you, and you're not interested in her, then you have every right to hang out. The gf will just have to deal. If she gets worked up every time her gf goes out to see a friend, I can tell you that that relationship won't work.

W, I agree with Raps. As long as you guys (you and friend) know what your relationship is and you are okay with that, I don;t see a problem.I mean, what right does the gf have to tell you guys that you can;t hang out. A bit too controlling for my tastes.
