Welcome to 2010!

As we end the final year of the decade nobody saw coming, I would like to wish everyone a prosperous and happy 2010. We've come far from both the beginning of the decade and from our own individual starts. Things may seems challenging, but we should never give up.

Though things may at times seem pointless or hopeless, the light at the end of the tunnel continues to glow not because we are meant to achieve it, but because we are meant to be inspired and motivated by it. We all have our own problems and trials, but at the start of the new year we are reminded that there is always another chance, we must just find it. The chance may not be the gift of time, but some other opportunity. We always have some chance to change the world for the better.

In these final hours of 2009, I hope all of you will begin looking for the next opportunity that may be right in front of you or hiding away. The new year is a wonderful, if not somewhat cliche, opportunity for change. We all know what needs to be changed, the question is how to go about instilling the change. If we look hard enough, the means will reveal themselves.

Happy New Year, welcome to 2010, and good luck. I look forward to 2010 as a year of change and advancement and hope that my wish comes true, as well as the wishes of all here on the Island.
