The Great Paysite Debate!
My opinion is probably not going to make me any new friends, but if EA supports paysites and people are making money off CC and even have staff, I see paysites as a regular business and no different than selling T-shirts online. The people putting up her stuff for free are pirates and I consider them to be lacking in morals. The 'violates EA's terms of use' has long since lost any sort of rational argument once EA started publicly supporting paysites. The idea that just because it's on the internet means it should be free is a very arrogant idea, in my opinion. The idea that stealing from a website is any different than stealing a CD off a shelf is equally stupid.
That said, it really bugs when paysites put up personal paypal information of pirates. That's not right, not to mention illegal.
That said, I don't download illegal music either. Why? Because the money doesn't just go to the overpaid singers. It goes to all the people who put money into producing it, mixing it, marketing it, everything. I find it sickening that people care so little about people's honest hard work.
If you can't afford it, you don't get it. That's how the world works. Unfair? Sometimes. But that sense of entitlement to everything for free really irritates me.

I don't care about paysites. If they wanna sell their custom content, why can't they? They put time and effort into their creations, and they chose to sell it. Just like MTS chose to host free creations.

I thoroughly agree. As long as they're not stealing (by law), then it's fine by me. The booty is what i hate. It's legally defined as theft to steal something legally up for sale.

Re: The Great Paysite Debate!
I dislike the booty on purely moral grounds. Until EA changed the EULA they were very careful not to either support or prohibit pay sites because as long as they were on the fence they didn't upset either side so much that they would lose money. So whether or not the items were legally up for sale was a grey area.
TS3 is a bit more cut and dried. If you are using DABOOBS, you cannot legally sell the results. If you're using Wes's tools, you cannot legally sell the results. If you are using the Workshop, you can.
But I still think that it is wrong to get something from the booty even if the creator shouldn't have been selling it in the first place, because you should still try to respect the creator's wishes.

Hmm, I cant believe I missed this thread.
For once, I totally agree with WWW on something As long as it isnt illegal, they should be able to do it.
I ahve to say that I have seen paysites that have just bucket fill items and really otherwise sh*tty creations. And the sad part? You can get wonderful creations for free at MTS or all of our affiliates.
Thats said, I think it would be nice if MTS let recolors and such of pay items, even if they had to be put in a subsection.
