RPG Tutorial

This short tutorial will teach you how to play the RPG game, but it will show you in a more visual fashion. Red text is me explaining something, and normal grey text is the actual game play. This will show you how the game works on the most basic level. Now, head on to the next post to see how it goes. :arrow:

I attempt to sneak up the ship's boarding ramp with WWW alongside me without the guard noticing.

Since this is MY action, I should roll the "Action Outcome" dice.

The member 'Rapsheba555' has done the following action : Roll Dice

'Action Outcome' :


This means that our attempt to sneak on board without being noticed failed.

The guard sees me, and I take one shot at him with my gun before he can react.

Here I should roll the "Attack Result" dice.

The member 'Rapsheba555' has done the following action : Roll Dice

'Attack result' :


This means that the guard somehow blocked the bullet, maybe with a shield or something.

I duck for cover, and the guard takes a potshot at me before I'm fully hidden.

Here I roll the "Enemy Attack Result" dice.

The member 'Rapsheba555' has done the following action : Roll Dice

'Enemy Attack Result' :


This means that the guard missed me and I'm not hurt.

I notice that I'm out of bullets. Since I'm safe for the moment, I try to fashion another bullet out of a button and some metal wire.

Since I'm trying to make something, I should roll the "Invention Result" dice.

The member 'Rapsheba555' has done the following action : Roll Dice

'Invention Result' :


This means that whatever I was making backfired on me. It may mean that the gun misfired with the makeshift bullet or I cut myself on the wire. You have to decide, but if "backfire" is the result, something bad must happen to you. "Fail" does not require a bad outcome, it simply means that what you made didn't work out.

So, this is a little segment of how the whole game plays. Hopefully it helps you to figure out exactly how it should work.
